Hyundai marketing recently visited MAY/RHI’s young and upcoming customer Capital Construction Company onsite while their HX260L excavator was cleaning up and moving dirt around on a new fire station site. They purchased the machine not too long after they started their business in Raleigh, NC just shy of 2 years ago, and think it’s been a huge part of their success.
“When getting started in this business, we found you need equipment that can do a little bit of everything. We got the Hyundai HX260L and it really helped us grow quickly. It’s a versatile excavator that’s not too big, not too small – perfect for knocking down trees. We can use a thumb with it to move trees out of the way, load log trucks… that machine has made us some money…it’s an awesome machine,” said owner and general manager Chadd Eriksen.
“We purchased all our Hyundai equipment from MAY/RHI in North Carolina and have had nothing but success with them.
Their customer service is phenomenal – our equipment doesn’t even need a lot of customer service because it’s been rolling ever since we’ve had it,” said Chadd.

Chadd shared with us when he’s having a bad day, he finds running a piece of equipment to be a stress reliever. He sometimes temporarily ‘takes the wheel’ from one of the operator/foremen just to de-stress.
“When I’m in the HX260L it’s like riding in a Cadillac. The air conditioning works great, it’s comfortable, it’s such a smooth piece of equipment – it’s my favorite machine in our fleet,” commented Chadd.
Jay Huey, another owner of Capital Construction, handles most of the business side of the company, doing all the accounting project management and estimating.
“Hyundai’s Hi MATE fleet maintenance system has been really great to use. Our shop mechanic uses it to daily/weekly track our Hyundai equipment’s fuel consumption, maintenance scheduling, and general wear and tear – all by sending codes to his phone,” explained Jay.
Jay often visits job sites to check with Capital Construction’s employees on how they are enjoying their work and what they think of the machines they are operating.
“Our employees have a lot of good things to say about the Hyundai equipment we rent from MAY/RHI. We’re young and up and coming… and a lot of the guys that work for us are young…but we’re really trying to put our name out there and show that we know what we’re doing and we can handle just about any size site development.
