Hyundai recently had the opportunity to interview valued customer Lucius Moore, owner of Southland Wood Recycling, at their new sawmill during the delivery of his new A-Series HL930A Hyundai wheel loader by Crosby Equipment. Southland previously purchased from Crosby a Hyundai HL940TM wheel loader fitted with a grapple attachment to sort logs and an HX220L excavator fitted with a cutter head.
“The HL930A wheel loader machine is fun to drive! For log sorting, it’s small enough to maneuver, but has the capacity to handle what we need. We like the quick coupling so we can easily change from a bucket used to move residuals to a grapple for loading logs,” said Lucius.
Lucius is impressed with Hyundai’s 3-YR / 3,000 HR warranty, and plans on purchasing their extended warranty so he can trade out machines and keep his equipment up to date.
Lucius’s son, Scott Moore, has been managing their main plant in Moultrie, GA where they produce feed stock for pellet mills export and bedding for the poultry industry, a significant amount of their business where they need residuals. Scott has recently been over at their new sawmill to learn the day to day operations, and he directs employees.
“Once you get them in the Hyundai equipment, the operators don’t want to get out – they are too comfortable,” shared Scott Moore, Lucius’s son.

“One thing I’ve learned in business is number one, you have to have customer , number two, you have to have a supplier, and number three, you have to have to good employees. One main element though, is if you don’t pick the right equipment you are going to fail, and with Hyundai, we feel like we got the right equipment,” Lucius stated.
